Christiana Smith Shi

Christiana Shi joined Nike in 2010 as the Chief Operating Officer for Global DTC, responsible for overseeing DTC’s Global Store Operations, Real Estate, Finance, Supply Chain Operations and Information Technology. In April 2012, Christiana was named VP of E-Commerce, responsible for driving the integrated global e-commerce strategy and business for NIKE, Inc. In June 2013, she became President of Nike’s Direct to Consumer business, leading Nike’s retail and e-commerce business globally. During the time Ms. Shi led Nike DTC, their global revenues grew from $4 bn to $7.8bn. She retired from Nike in 2016, and is currently serving as a director on the boards of Mondelez International, UPS, and Habitat for Humanity International. Christiana also previously served on the boards of West Marine Inc. and William Sonoma Inc. Christiana also leads Lovejoy Advisors, LLC, an advisory services firm for digitally transforming consumer and retail businesses.
Christiana came to Nike after spending 24 years with McKinsey & Company, Inc., where she worked across North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia providing leadership, expertise and strategic vision to senior executives of Fortune 200 consumer companies. She was elected Director and Senior Partner in 2000, only the tenth woman to be elected senior partner at that point in McKinsey’s 70-year history. Ms. Shi’s areas of expertise include digital commerce, global retail expansion, category strategy, retail technology, store operations, supply chain, and performance transformation.
Christiana is a recognized leader in the retail sector. She helped create and extend McKinsey’s proprietary knowledge in merchandising, omnichannel and e-commerce, global strategy and lean store operations. She continues to speak frequently on retail trends, including at the National Retail Federation Big Show and the Terry J. Lundgren Center for Retailing’s 2016 Global Retailing Conference. Christiana is also a frequent speaker on the topic of women’s leadership, and in particular, women on boards. Some of her most recent appearances include the Fortune’s Most Powerful Women’s Summit in Laguna Beach, the West Coast Women’s Leadership Accelerator, the SharpHeels Career Summit, and the National Conversation on Board Diversity.
Christiana is a graduate of Stanford University and has a Master in Business Administration from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Business.
